The National Wild Horse Association (NWHA) is a registered non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization run completely by volunteers. The National wild Horse Association (NWHA) was established in 1971 when Congress passed the “Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act”. The mission of National Wild Horse Association is to ensure the welfare of wild horses and burros and their survival, in an ecologically balanced environment on the open range.
